Andras Pokorny

Perfectly Toasted, Vol. 1

New York-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Andras Pokorny has been writing and recording music for much of his life. Long before any formal music education, Andras developed a different approach to guitar playing due to a condition he was born with, resulting in a unique hand structure and missing digits. Andras applied his creativity not only to the tactile aspect of playing, but the ethereal outcome as well in the tradition of differently-abled players like Django Reinhardt and Tommy Iommi.

Beginning with a cassette 4 track in childhood, Andras found himself expanding his production sense while being exposed to wide gamut of artists and recording techniques working at WRUV FM as well as an internship at Bennett Studios in Englewood, New Jersey.

To date, Andras has recorded and released three official albums to positive reviews from outlets such as ForFolksSake.com and WhatTheFolk.com. His latest single, “The Air,” from the forthcoming full-length The Dividends, is available on Golden Brown Records.

Inspiration for The Dividends came while Andras was working in a commercial audio shop, where he was encouraged to explore Logic, MIDI, and sample production. The resulting effort is an airy saunter through the imagination, articulated through Andras’ sprawling production and instrumentation methods.
